Non EU High School Applicants

Requirements for Application

  • Non-holders of any EU citizenship (in accordance with Article 2 of the Regulation);
  • Be the holder of a high school qualification or equivalent (through Equivalence of Foreign Qualifications at DGE);
  • Have taken national final exams of foreign secondary education that are considered homologous to the entrance exams set for the chosen program. - In the absence of said exams, the candidate will have to take an aptitude test at the institution.
Medical declaration

The medical declaration, attained by completing the available form, shall prove the absence of any mental, sensory or motor deficiency that seriously interferes with the functional capacity and interpersonal communication to the point of impairing the applicant's own learning or that of others.

The respective result, expressed as Apt or Not Apt, does not influence the calculation of the application score.

Documents needed for the application

  • Official Identification Document;
  • Document issued by a competent authority certifying that the qualifications the candidate holds allow access to higher education in the country in which they were awarded (example: Brazil: ENEM or Prova Vestibular) [only required if applicable to the candidate's situation];
  • Qualifications Certificate (High School Leaving Certificate), dully apostilled with the 1961 Hague Convention Apostille;
  • Document proving the equivalence of the foreign secondary education course to Portuguese secondary education, including the final classification of the course converted to the Portuguese scale of 0 to 200; (please see "Helpful Links" below);
  • Sworn statement that the candidate does not have Portuguese nationality, nor is covered by any of the conditions that impede the candidacy to the Special Admissions for International Students;
  • Visa or Residence Permit/Card or Declaration of Entry (applicable only to those already residing in Portugal for less than two years);
  • Prerequisite Group A - Interpersonal Communication;
  • All documentation written in a foreign language other than Portuguese must be accompanied by a translation into this language duly certified by the competent authorities.
