Accompanying the student in the development of research, offers a good preparation for the dissertation, with the existence in the study plan of two UCs of research methodologies and a research seminar.

Specialised faculty in areas of Clinical Psychology or Health Psychology, with firm and growing qualifications, research, clinical practice, and intervention in different clinical and health contexts.

Possibility of interdisciplinary collaborations between the area of Clinical and Health Psychology and other study cycles of Egas Moniz School of Health and Science in the health area (e.g. Nutrition Sciences, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Dentistry), in the scope of research and clinical practice in health care.

• Professional practice of psychology as a Clinical and Health Psychologist.
• The professional opportunities include institutions in the area of mental health that provide intervention in Clinical and Health Psychology (Hospitals, Clinics, Consulting Rooms, IPSS, NGOs, etc.), and these opportunities depend on enrolment in the Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses (OPP) and completion of the Junior Professional Year, supervised by the OPP, which is mandatory for the exercise of the profession.

Students in Clinical and Health Psychology have the opportunity to engage in research at CiiEM, collaborating with its specialized labs and research groups. This allows them to explore psychological assessments, therapeutic interventions, and the psychological factors influencing health outcomes. Through this collaboration, students can contribute to the development of evidence-based practices that promote mental health and well-being, both in clinical settings and broader health contexts.
