Classrooms adequately equipped with the materials and resources necessary for learning, with emphasis on the communication/relationship and clinical practice laboratories where an important part of the simulated practices take place throughout the course.

Specialized faculty.

According to data from the Ordem dos Enfermeiros (OE), on 31-12-2020, there were a total of 78117 nurses in Portugal, registered in the OE. Of these, 24% are specialist nurses and 76% are general care nurses. In ESSEM's area of influence, there are 29% nurses, 5.2% of whom are Medical-Surgical Nursing specialists and 0.43% in the area of Critical Care Nursing.

Students in the Master of Medical-Surgical Nursing, specializing in Critical Care Nursing, have the opportunity to conduct research at CiiEM, collaborating with expert labs and research groups focused on advancing critical care practices. This research allows students to explore innovative techniques in patient monitoring, advanced nursing interventions, and outcomes in critical care settings. By engaging in evidence-based research, students contribute to enhancing the quality of care in high-acuity environments, improving patient outcomes, and shaping the future of critical care nursing.

Candidates who perform this Master's degree obtain a specialisation carried out through internships in public hospitals in Portugal, therefore, it is required to be registered with the Order of Nurses in Portugal.
