Laboratório de Avaliação Física e Funcional em Fisioterapia (LAFFi)
It was established in September 2021 and constitutes another institutional valence integrated in the Egas Moniz Interdisciplinary Research Centre (CiiEM), this one promoting a translational research paradigm in collaboration with all functional structures of Egas Moniz, besides strongly focusing on community interactions in different contexts, including health, health-related sciences and social services.
Its mission is to develop basic, advanced and applied research in disciplines related to the study and teaching of physical therapy and biomedical sciences, as well as other scientific areas applied to health.
It provides a suitable environment to promote the progress of scientific knowledge with an effective dynamic in collaborative research projects, services based on advanced research, specialized training, dissemination actions and extension activities.
Its physical structure has various resources of technology and biomedical instrumentation such as:
- Electromyography;
- Platform for strength and balance;
- Metabolic assessment
- Bioimpedance;
- Dynamometry
- Algometry;
- Mobile applications (APP) for assessment in physical therapy.
