The Egas Moniz Board is very proud of our students, teachers, staff and Alumni who build and support the Egas Moniz community..
As we approach the end of the year, what should I say about 2020? 2020 was a hectic year for all mankind, a year full of challenges that we could never have imagined. I am very grateful for the incredible efforts of each of you as we faced all adversities. We quickly switched to remote and online learning in March and we also rapidly started teaching face-to-face when allowed (May). In the midst of all of this, we are particularly proud of our community spirit and the creative ways to stay connected, whether by participating in classes / lectures / virtual meetings, in interaction with the community, actions of environmental social responsibility and internal collaboration and in marketing actions and attracting new students, welcoming new students, supporting students and social action.
2020 took a turn that none of us could have expected. During this period of extreme stress and uncertainty, we made our Egas Moniz' DNA visible: we moved forward, innovated and found a way to make sense of complex situations and paved the way forward. During this pandemic crisis, we worked to adjust our vision with the development of our strategic plan, centered on innovative concepts such as one health, economic circular and SDGs and a strong commitment to environmental issues.
This year was a remarkable year in the field of research, where we reached a record number of publications in high impact indexed journals and fundraising in internal and external research support contests, giving rise in the near future to entrepreneurship actions linking university to society.
We look forward to being together again in the not too distant future and remaining optimistic about our future.
Let us be responsible for the good of all towards the return to the normal life on our “post-covid” campus.
