University Transfer Contest

Elegibility conditions: Students may request a transfer to a different institution/course pair if they: a) Have been enrolled in another national or foreign institution/course pair and have not completed it; b) Have taken, in any academic year, the national secondary education exams corresponding to the entrance examinations required for that institution/course pair for that year, under the general access regime; c) Have achieved, in those exams, the minimum grade required by IUEM for that year, under the general access regime.

Students from countries without recognised equivalent exams are not eligible for this transfer (see equivalent exams below).

Necessary documents

  • Identification document (original must be presented for verification);
  • Higher education application record (Portugal: ENES Form, Brazil: ENEM, Vestibular);
  • Document(s) proving completion of the required entrance examinations, including respective partial and final grades, along with the regulations of the institution where the exams were taken (applicable to students admitted through special access regimes for applicants over 23 years of age and to international students);
  • Document confirming approval of replacement of entrance exams by final secondary education exams from a non-Portuguese system (for students admitted under Article 20-A of Decree-Law no. 296-A/98, as currently in force);
  • Declaration of enrolment and registration issued by the higher education institution previously attended, together with the curriculum structure of the programme;
  • Academic transcript indicating the curricular units successfully completed, the respective grades obtained, and the corresponding syllabus/content, including workload and/or ECTS credits, where the student intends to apply for credit transfer of previously completed studies;
  • Declaration indicating the grading scale used in the country of origin;
  • Students from foreign higher education institutions must provide a document issued by NARIC – Portugal certifying that the course is recognised as higher education under the legislation of the country of origin (mandatory);
  • Application for credit transfer of prior learning and competences, together with the supporting documentation required under the applicable regulations, where the student wishes to request such recognition.
