These events provide a unique opportunity for cultural exchange and the building of lasting friendships.
At Egas Moniz, we incorporate international perspectives into the daily life of our campus, without the need for physical mobility.

This is achieved through curricula that include international content, lectures by global speakers and collaborative projects that connect our students with peers and faculty from around the world. This approach prepares our students for a global job market and to become global citizens, with a deep and respectful understanding of different cultures and perspectives.
This year, the Egas Moniz School of Health & Science hosted an online event focused on intercultural communication and the internationalization of higher education. This event featured three interactive and informative sessions, led by experts in the field, and aimed to promote the integration of global perspectives in the academic environment.

Proposals for curriculum design that promote the development of students’ intercultural competence were developed, highlighting the importance of integrating multiple cultural perspectives. Furthermore, the analysis of practices and challenges faced in contexts of international cooperation provided valuable insights into successes and difficulties in global training and research.
The event also facilitated interaction between participants from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds, strengthening networks and international collaboration. Finally, the results reaffirmed Egas Moniz’s commitment to internationalization and the inclusion of global perspectives, consolidating the institution as a leader in international education. This mission reflects our commitment to providing healthcare in underserved regions, promoting global health and well-being.

Furthermore, for the third consecutive year, we have participated, in partnership with SSTENE, an NGO-D, in the provision of perioperative care at the Simão Mendes Hospital in Bissau. SSTENE, founded in 2018, aims to address shortages in specialized health care in the PALOP countries, especially in Guinea-Bissau, in cooperation with the government and other health entities. The participation of Egas Moniz, through Professor Vanessa Antunes, lecturer and coordinator of the master's degree in medical-surgical nursing, reinforces the institution's commitment to global health and professional development of nursing in resource-limited contexts.

We are also proud to share that the European consortium led by Hochschule Bielefeld - University of Applied Sciences and Arts (Germany) and which includes the Egas Moniz School of Health & Science, obtained a seal of excellence for the EduCare 5.0 project application, submitted to the Erasmus+ Programme for European Universities.
